GIM Survey for Bihar Sustainable Livelihood Development Project (BSLD), PASSING GIFTS PRIVATE LIMITED, 2023 and 2024

The primary objective of this project is to empower 70,000 small and marginal holder farmers and their families to increase incomes by farmer owned agri-businesses. The project strives to complement production increase and inclusive group formation by fostering inclusive market systems with goat, backyard poultry, and horticulture value chains. GIM Survey used a mixed-methods approach to collect data and information on different aspects of the BSLD project’s objectives. With monthly savings and inter loaning as the core principles, the SHG members get loans when in need; they repay the loan punctually. This also has saved them from getting loans on high interest from local moneylenders. The project has inculcated a confidence among the programme beneficiaries that they can get loans in emergencies and when in need. The other key takeaways are improved financial literacy among women; improved knowledge and practice related to animal husbandry and climate smart agriculture, among others.
