CMS’s continuing endeavour is to strengthen civic participation and engagement on critical issues – including global, national, and local concerns. It does this through research-based innovative engagements, strategic outreach, and capacity strengthening programs with policymakers, academia, media, and civil society.

CMS has developed popular pathways such as providing spaces for open debates, forums for dialogue, and festivals for creative expressions. It has prominent programs with working and aspiring media professionals and content creators. Through popular modes like films, festivals, competitions, and campaigns (both online and in-person), CMS engages various audiences across diverse focus areas.

CMS also articulates its research findings and concerns through national debates, discussions, research papers, reports, monographs, books, newsletters, and contributions to the news media.

One of CMS’s most popular initiatives is CMS VATAVARAN – Asia’s largest film festival and forum on environment and wildlife.
