Media engagement programme on climate change adaption in the Indian Himalayan Region (IHR) 2016-19

Centre for Media Studies (CMS), under the Indian Himalayas Climate Adaptation Programme (IHCAP) of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, has launched a media engagement programme on climate change adaption in the Indian Himalayan Region (IHR). Under this programme, a series of media workshops and fellowships on adaptation to climate change in the Himalayan region have been organised during 2016-2019 period. The objective of the program is to trigger sustained interest in climate change, sustainability and livelihood issues among journalists, editors and media houses in the region.
Many senior thematic experts and policymakers have participated in these workshops and interacted with journalists from different media in the Himalayan states. Each workshop includes a field trip to facilitate ground-level reportage on climate change adaptation.

The objective of the media workshops is to provide intensive knowledge-based information about different aspects of climate change adaptation to the media persons. The workshops are designed to be interactive in nature, while also exposing the participants to live examples and case studies of such adaptation efforts through field visits.
