COMMUNICATION RESEARCH COLLABORATION BETWEEN
CENTRE FOR MEDIA STUDIES & ANNENBERG SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION

The Centre for Media Studies (CMS) and America’s premier communication institute, the Annenberg School of Communication of Southern California University (USC ASC) have come together to collaborate and share experiences in conducting research studies in media and communication and explore professional development opportunities. A MOU was signed to this effect between the two institutes this week in Los Angeles.

On September 7, 2005 at USC, Dr. N Bhaskara Rao, Chairman of CMS and Dean Geoffrey Cowan from USC ASC signed this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This is the first time that a leading American University entered into a collaborative arrangement with a premier Indian research institute specializing in media and communication studies.

The Centre for Media Studies (CMS) is one of the leading, autonomous organization in India engaged in multidisciplinary research with emphasis on communication and social development research. In addition to providing research support in the areas of design and evaluation of national policy, projects/programs and services, CMS initiated its own research/advocacy efforts for stimulating debate and dialogue on some critical development issues. CMS also designs and delivers training programs and brings out publications.

The USC Annenberg School of Communication (USC ASC) is one of the premier American institution for the study of communication, journalism and their usage in the larger societal context. Programs at USC Annenberg combine policy-oriented activism with outstanding research and teaching. Located in the multimedia mecca of Los Angeles, USC ASC offers unparalleled opportunities for hands-on study and access to leading professionals worldwide.
